Installing of the cork panelling

Basic Information
The room in which we intend to install the cork should be dry; all construction work should be completed. We recommend acclimatization of tiles and glue in the room for at least 24 hours before installation. The ideal temperature for mounting plates is 18 ° C. Never attach the cork, if the room temperature is below 15 ° C. Tiles should be put out of the packages directly prior to installation. Cork is a natural material, so there is a possibility of slight differences in shades of individual tiles.

Tools and supporting materials:
sharp knife, pencil, measuring tape, angle gauge, cord marking, velvet roller, clean cloth, rubber hammer for pressing wallpapers.

Base preparation
Surfaces must be sound, tight and dry. Inequalities, defects, scratches or cracks should be repaired using putty. Prior to this, all the old paint layers must be removed and the walls must be dry. Gypsum, lime-cement, plasterboard should be properly primed to improve adhesion and extend the time of gluing. For absorptive ground coats we recommend usage of dispersion ground coats.

Gluing
Using chalk line, measuring band and angle bar outline on the wall two lines perpendicular to each other in such a way that you can start tiling from their point of intersection. We recommend that the width of the cutting edge of the wall plate is not less than 5 cm.

The adhesive should be applied only to such surface of the substrate, which will be covered with tiles within 10-15 minutes. Immediately after application of the adhesive start tiling, remember about pushing the tiles gently over the entire surface using your hand so that the entire bottom part of each plate was wetted with adhesive. After a short period of time, you should press the tiles again, this time using a rubber mallet. Glue stains should be removed immediately with a damp cloth.
